White-chinned Woodcreeper, Dendrocincla merula, is a passerine of the Furnariidae family that breeds in Amazonia in South America. It is a bird of humid forested country, especially terra firme and floodplain forest, and is most often found in the understorey. It also uses sandy-soil forest, gallery forest, young secondary growth and the margins of várzea forest, and is usually below 300 m, though it can reach 600 m on the western edge of its range. A narrow pale stripe on the chin and throat helps identify it, and the nominate form and D. m. obidensis are larger than the other subspecies.
