Cacatua alba

The White Cockatoo (Cacatua alba) is a large and striking parrot species native to the islands of Indonesia. Known for its distinctive white plumage and expressive crest, these social birds are often found in flocks, displaying their characteristic raucous calls and playful behavior. White Cockatoos are primarily arboreal, favoring lowland forests and coastal regions. They are opportunistic feeders, consuming a varied diet of seeds, fruits, and insects. Unfortunately, habitat loss and illegal trapping for the pet trade have led to population declines, resulting in a conservation status of Vulnerable according to the IUCN Red List.
