Conopias trivirgatus

The White-crested Spadebill is a small, insectivorous bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is known for its distinctive white crest and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are pale yellow with a grayish wash on the flanks. This species is often observed perching quietly in the understory, where it hunts for insects and small invertebrates. Its melodious song can be heard echoing through the dense foliage. The White-crested Spadebill is typically found in humid lowland forests and adjacent foothills, where it prefers areas with dense vegetation and a variety of insect prey.
