Rhabdotorrhinus leucocephalus

The White-crowned Hornbill, scientifically known as Rhabdotorrhinus leucocephalus, is a striking bird found in the forests of the Philippines. This medium-sized hornbill is characterized by its white head and neck, contrasted by a black body and wings. It has a large, curved bill and a distinct casque on top of its bill. White-crowned Hornbills are known for their distinctive calls and are often seen in pairs or small groups. They play a crucial role in seed dispersal and are an important part of the forest ecosystem. Unfortunately, habitat loss and hunting pose significant threats to their population.
