The White-crowned Wheatear (Oenanthe chrysopygia) is a small, insectivorous bird found in arid and semi-arid regions of the Middle East and North Africa. This species is known for its distinctive white crown and black mask, with the upperparts being predominantly gray and the underparts white. It prefers open, rocky habitats with scattered vegetation, such as deserts, rocky slopes, and dry scrublands. The White-crowned Wheatear is an agile forager, often seen perched on rocks or low shrubs while scanning for prey. Its conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, owing to its relatively stable population and wide distribution range.
