White-eared Night Heron, Oroanassa magnifica, is a heron of the Ardeidae family that breeds in southern and eastern China and northern Vietnam. It was described by Ogilvie-Grant in 1899. The species was once believed to be confined to southern China and northern Vietnam, but records later extended its known range. It has been documented in the Cardamom Mountains, Valmiki National Park, Namdapha National Park and the Sundarbans, with findings in Cambodia, India and Bangladesh. It is threatened by habitat loss and habitat fragmentation.
