The White-eyed Gull (Ichthyaetus leucophthalmus) is a medium-sized gull found in coastal regions of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea. This striking gull is known for its white plumage, with a distinctive white eye-ring that gives it its name. It has a stout, yellow bill and legs, and its wings display a contrasting black and white pattern. White-eyed Gulls are opportunistic feeders, preying on fish, crustaceans, and scavenging for food in coastal areas. They are highly adaptable and are often found in urbanized coastal areas, nesting on flat, sandy or rocky terrain near the shore. Despite their adaptability, they face threats from habitat degradation and disturbance.
