White-eyed Parakeet, Psittacara leucophthalmus, is a bird of South America, breeding in Amazonia and surrounding regions. It occurs across most mainland South American countries and is also present on Trinidad. It belongs to the Psittacidae, the African and New World parrots. The species is mainly green, with paler underparts, red markings on the head and neck, red and yellow wing markings, and an orange eye set in bare pale skin. Adults of the nominate form lack a red forehead band, while P. l. nicefori shows one.
