White-eyed Slaty Flycatcher, Melaenornis fischeri, is a passerine in the Old World flycatcher family and breeds in central and eastern Africa. It occurs in the African highlands from Ethiopia and Kenya south through Rwanda to eastern Zaire and Malawi. The subspecies M. f. toruensis is found in Rwanda and Burundi, where it shows a faint eye-ring. The scientific name honours the German explorer Gustav Adolf Fischer. It was described by Reichenow in 1884.
