White-eyed Tody-Tyrant

Hemitriccus zosterops

The White-eyed Tody-Tyrant, scientifically known as Hemitriccus zosterops, is a small passerine bird found in the tropical forests of South America. This species is characterized by its distinctive white eye-ring and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are pale yellow with a tinge of olive, and the wings and tail are dusky. These tody-tyrants are often observed foraging for insects in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy, where they flit and hover to catch their prey. Their vocalizations consist of high-pitched, repetitive notes. The White-eyed Tody-Tyrant is known for its preference for dense, humid forests, where it can be found in the understory and along forest edges.
