White-fronted Manakin

Lepidothrix serena (Linnaeus, 1766)

White-fronted Manakin, Lepidothrix serena, is a bird of the manakin family found in ne Amazonia in South America. It occurs in French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and northeastern Brazil, where it lives in subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest. The male is mostly black and shows a blue rump, yellow belly patches and a striking white forehead patch that reaches forward. The female is grey and black, with a pale yellow belly and a white eye ring. It was described by Linnaeus in 1766.
