White-fronted Redstart

Myioborus albifrons

The White-fronted Redstart, also known as the white-faced redstart, is a small songbird found in the highlands of Mexico and Central America. It is known for its striking black and white plumage, with a bright red patch on its tail. This species is often found in montane pine-oak forests and cloud forests, where it forages for insects and spiders by hopping and flitting among the branches. The White-fronted Redstart is known for its melodious song, often heard echoing through the misty mountain forests. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future threats to this species.
