White-headed Wood Hoopoe, Phoeniculus bollei, is a bird of western and central Africa in the wood hoopoe family. It breeds across that part of the continent and is found in a range of wooded habitats, from lowland savanna and dry forest to montane primary forest, with records also from regenerating woodland and deciduous trees. It is set apart by its white head, bright red bill, and red legs and feet. The plumage is dark blue to violet-blue, with wings that show a purple-copper sheen. The female is smaller and has a shorter bill.
