White-necked Crow

Corvus woodfordi

The White-necked Crow (Corvus woodfordi) is a large, all-black crow species found in the Solomon Islands and Bougainville. It is known for its distinctive white nape and neck feathers, which contrast sharply with its glossy black plumage. These intelligent birds are highly adaptable and can be found in a variety of habitats, including forests, plantations, and urban areas. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, insects, small vertebrates, and carrion. White-necked Crows are known for their loud and varied vocalizations, often forming large, noisy flocks. While their population status is not well-documented, they are generally considered to be of Least Concern by the IUCN.
