White-rumped Seedeater, Crithagra leucopygia, is a finch that breeds across western, central and eastern Africa. It is associated with dry savanna and is also known outside the wild and in aviculture as the grey singing finch. Sundevall described it in 1850. It was once included in Serinus, but later genetic work led to its transfer to Crithagra. The species belongs to the family Fringillidae and the order Passeriformes.
