Aerodramus ocistus
The White-rumped Swiftlet is a small, fast-flying bird found in the forests and caves of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive white rump and a dark, streamlined body, with long, narrow wings and a short, forked tail. These swiftlets are highly adapted for aerial feeding, catching insects on the wing with their wide gape and short bills. They are colonial nesters, building their nests with saliva in dark, damp caves. Their high-pitched twittering calls can often be heard as they dart and wheel through the air in search of food.
