Neocossyphus poensis
The White-tailed Alethe is a small passerine bird native to the forests of West Africa. It is characterized by its striking white tail feathers, contrasting with its dark plumage. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of its forest habitat. White-tailed Alethes forage on the forest floor, feeding on insects and small invertebrates. They are generally shy and elusive, making sightings a rewarding experience for birdwatchers. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to the long-term survival of this species.
