White-tailed Cinclodes

Agriornis albicauda

The White-tailed Cinclodes is a medium-sized bird found in the Andes of South America. It has a distinctive white tail and a mottled brown plumage, providing excellent camouflage against the rocky terrain where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. This species is known for its agile movements as it hops and runs along the ground, using its long, curved bill to probe for prey. White-tailed Cinclodes are typically found in high-altitude grasslands and shrublands, often near streams or wet areas. While not currently considered globally threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to this species.
