The White-tailed Drongo (Dicrurus ludwigii) is a medium-sized passerine bird found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its glossy black plumage, distinctive forked tail, and striking white patches on the wings and tail. This species is highly vocal and often found in open woodlands, savannas, and forest edges, where it hunts for insects and small vertebrates by hawking from perches. White-tailed Drongos are known for their remarkable aerial acrobatics and aggressive behavior towards larger birds, often mobbing them to defend their territory. They are adaptable and can also be found in urban and agricultural areas. Despite facing threats such as habitat loss and nest predation, the White-tailed Drongo is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
