It is a ground-dwelling bird that forages for insects and small invertebrates in open grasslands and wetlands. Breeding in central Asia, it migrates to wintering grounds in the Indian subcontinent and parts of Africa. The White-tailed Lapwing is known for its aerial displays during the breeding season, where it performs acrobatic flights and calls loudly.
