White-throated Bushchat

Saxicola gutturalis

The White-throated Bushchat, scientifically known as Saxicola gutturalis, is a small passerine bird found in open grasslands, scrublands, and agricultural areas of Asia. This species is known for its distinctive white throat and black plumage, with the male having a striking white patch on the side of its neck. The White-throated Bushchat is an insectivorous bird, often seen perching on low shrubs or wires while foraging for insects. It builds its cup-shaped nest in low vegetation and lays a clutch of eggs. This species is known for its melodious song and agile flight patterns. Although widespread, habitat loss and agricultural intensification pose threats to its populations.
