White-throated Flycatcher

Empidonax albigularis

The White-throated Flycatcher is a small, insect-eating bird found in the highland forests of Central America. It has a distinctive white throat and a pale yellow belly. This species is known for its agile aerial foraging, darting out from perches to catch flying insects. It builds cup-shaped nests in the forest canopy, often near streams or ravines. The White-throated Flycatcher is a migratory bird, spending the winter in southern Mexico and Central America. Its population is currently stable, but it faces threats from habitat loss and deforestation.
