White-throated Gerygone

Conopophila albogularis

The White-throated Gerygone is a small, insectivorous bird found in Australia and New Guinea. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, white underparts, and distinctive white throat. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense foliage of its forest habitat. White-throated Gerygones are skilled at foraging for insects and spiders in the canopy and understory. They are known for their intricate, pendulous nests, which are often suspended from the branches of trees. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to their populations.
