White-throated Kingbird, Tyrannus albogularis, is a passerine of South America, breeding in Amazonia and central Brazil. It is a member of the tyrant flycatcher family and was described by Burmeister in 1856. The species is found in open lowland tropical country, especially shrubby areas, cerrado, savannah, forest edges and palm stands, usually close to water. In Brazil it is mainly a bird of the breeding range, with some movement beyond it in the non-breeding season. Its range is not fully settled, and it is also recorded from several neighbouring countries.
