Oxylabes madagascariensis

The White-throated Oxylabes (Oxylabes madagascariensis) is a small passerine bird native to the eastern rainforests of Madagascar. It is characterized by its olive-green plumage, white throat, and distinctive black and white facial pattern. This species is known for its energetic foraging behavior, often seen hopping and flitting through the dense understory in search of insects and small fruits. The White-throated Oxylabes is typically found in the mid to upper levels of the forest, where it builds its cup-shaped nest using mosses, leaves, and spider webs. Despite its restricted range, this species is relatively common within suitable habitat and is not currently considered threatened.
