Phoenicurus hodgsoni
The White-throated Redstart is a small passerine bird found in the high-altitude mountainous regions of central and southern Asia. It is characterized by its striking plumage, with the male sporting a black head, back, and wings, a white throat, and a bright orange-red tail. The female has a more subdued plumage with grayish-brown upperparts and a pale orange tail. These birds are often found in open areas with scattered vegetation, including alpine meadows, scrublands, and forest edges. They are known for their active foraging behavior, hopping and flitting among rocks and low vegetation in search of insects and small invertebrates. The White-throated Redstart is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is believed to be stable.
