White-throated Swallow

White-throated Swallow, Hirundo albigularis, is a swallow of southern Africa, breeding from Botswana and Zimbabwe to southern South Africa and moving north to Angola and southern DR Congo outside the breeding season. It is linked with open country and grassland, especially higher ground near water, and is often seen around bridges, dams and other built structures. Its most useful field mark is the white throat set off by a dark breast band. It also uses mud nests placed on ledges beneath overhangs, including on rocks and man-made structures.
