White-throated Woodpecker, Piculus leucolaemus, is a woodpecker of western Amazonia in South America, with breeding range in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It lives in mature humid terra firme forest and várzea forest, in lowland and foothill areas. The species is marked by the white chin and throat that give it its name. Adults also show bronze-green upperparts, blackish flight feathers with pale cinnamon-rufous on the inner webs, and a blackish tail edged green. Males and females differ mainly on the head, while juveniles are greener.
