White-vented Plumeleteer, Chalybura buffonii, is a hummingbird of Middle America and South America, breeding from Panama through Colombia to Venezuela. It belongs to the family Trochilidae and was described by Lesson in 1832. It is found in a range of forested and semi-open habitats, including forest edges, interior forest, secondary growth and scrubland. The species is not known to migrate. Its breeding season varies across its range, and its nest is a cup made from plant down, spiderweb, moss and lichen.
