White-winged Cotinga, Xipholena atropurpurea, is a bird of eastern Brazil in South America, where it is found mainly along the coast and also in scattered inland places. It belongs to the Cotingidae family and is confined to Brazil. The species lives in dense humid forest, but it also uses more open woodland, semi-deciduous forest and scrub on sandy ground. It is a resident bird. Males have a glossy dark body with white wings, while females are greyer. The species is monotypic.
