White-winged Flufftail, Sarothrura ayresi, is a bird of Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and eastern South Africa in the family Sarothruridae. It breeds in high-altitude seasonal marshes with dense sedge cover, where it nests on the ground. In flight, the white secondary feathers are visible. Both sexes have dull plumage and dark crowns. Its specialised wetland habitat is under pressure from drainage and use for farming, grazing and sedge cutting.
