The White-winged Oriole (Icterus leucopteryx) is a striking, medium-sized bird found in Central and South America. It is known for its vibrant yellow plumage, with distinct white wing patches that give it its name. These orioles inhabit a variety of forested habitats, including tropical and subtropical forests, as well as forest edges and clearings. They are often seen foraging for insects and fruits in the canopy. The White-winged Oriole's melodious song and conspicuous appearance make it a sought-after species for birdwatchers and researchers. While not currently classified by the IUCN, habitat loss and deforestation may pose threats to its populations.
