White-winged Swallow

Tachycineta albiventer (Boddaert, 1783)

White-winged Swallow, Tachycineta albiventer, is a breeding bird of South America, ranging from Colombia to northern Argentina. It is a resident in much of its range, though the southern population moves seasonally. It is found in lowland areas close to water, especially along rivers and lakes, and is usually absent from the Pacific side of the continent. It is also not found west of the Andes. The species is monotypic, with no recognised subspecies. Its breeding range extends through tropical South America, including Brazil, Venezuela, Trinidad and Argentina.
