Whitehead's Nuthatch (Sitta whiteheadi) is a small bird species belonging to the family Sittidae. Endemic to the Philippines, it is primarily found in montane forests, particularly in mossy and mossy-pygmy forests at elevations of 1,000 to 2,400 meters. This nuthatch is known for its distinctive black cap, white face, and vibrant blue-grey upperparts. It forages for insects and seeds by creeping along tree trunks and branches, using its strong bill to probe into crevices. Whitehead's Nuthatch is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss and degradation caused by deforestation and agricultural expansion.
