Rhipidura leucophrys (Latham, 1801)

Willie Wagtail, Rhipidura leucophrys, is a passerine of Australasia, found in the Moluccas, the New Guinea area, Australia apart from Tasmania, the Bismarck Archipelago and the Solomon Islands. It is a familiar bird across much of this range and uses most habitats, though not dense forest. Its plumage is sharply marked, with black upperparts and white underparts, and the sexes look alike. It belongs to the fantails, in the family Rhipiduridae, and was described by Latham in 1801.
