Winding Cisticola

Cisticola aridulus

The Winding Cisticola (Cisticola aridulus) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the grasslands and savannas of southern Africa. It is known for its distinctive, spiraling song, which it delivers during its aerial displays. This species is typically 12-13 cm in length and has a buffy-brown plumage with subtle streaks on the back and a pale underbelly. Winding Cisticolas are highly adaptable and can be found in a variety of grassland habitats, including agricultural fields, marshes, and open woodlands. Their conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, as they have a widespread distribution and are not facing significant threats.
