Microcerculus bambla (Boddaert, 1783)

Wing-banded Wren, Microcerculus bambla, is a passerine of the wren family that breeds in northern and western Amazonia in South America. It is recorded from eastern Ecuador, northern and south-central Peru, north-western Brazil, extreme eastern Colombia, southern and south-eastern Venezuela, and the Guianas. The species lives in lowland rainforest, including both denser and more open forest, and it is linked to damp understorey with plenty of fallen timber. In Venezuela it occurs from sea level up to 1,100 m, and can reach 1,500 m. Its wing shows a broad white band when closed.
