Leucosarcia melanoleuca (Latham, 1801)

Wonga Pigeon, Leucosarcia melanoleuca, is a pigeon of eastern Australia, breeding from south-east Queensland to south-east Victoria. It is a bird of rainforests, wet eucalypt forest and coastal forest, and also turns up in picnic areas, along walking tracks, in car parks and gardens. It is a shy ground-feeder that is more often heard than seen, and may give a sudden burst of wing claps when disturbed. Its plumage is marked by a pale blue-grey back, a creamy head and a white underside with dark spotting that forms a clear V on the chest.
