Wood Warbler

Phylloscopus sibilatrix

The Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the woodlands of Europe and western Asia. It is known for its bright lemon-yellow plumage and distinctive, high-pitched song. During the breeding season, these agile birds forage for insects in the tree canopy, using their slender bills to capture prey. Wood Warblers migrate to sub-Saharan Africa for the winter, where they inhabit similar woodland habitats. Despite their vibrant appearance, Wood Warblers can be elusive due to their preference for high treetop perches. Conservation efforts focus on preserving their woodland habitats and migration routes.
