Woodhouse's Scrub Jay, Aphelocoma woodhouseii, is a jay of North America and Middle America, breeding from north-western USA, including Oregon and Idaho, south to Guerrero and central and eastern Oaxaca. It belongs to the crow family and was described by Baird in 1858. It is a scrub jay of western North America and is named after the American naturalist and explorer Samuel Washington Woodhouse. It was once treated as part of a broader scrub jay grouping, first with the California scrub jay and earlier with the island scrub jay and Florida scrub jay.
