Aprositornis disjuncta (Friedmann, 1945)

Yapacana Antbird, Aprositornis disjuncta, is a passerine of the antbird family that breeds in north-central Amazonia in Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. It was first described by Herbert Friedmann in 1945 and later placed in its own genus. The species is named for Cerro Yapacana in Venezuela, the type locality. It is a monotypic bird with a patchy range across eastern Colombia, south-western Venezuela and north-western Brazil, where it lives in low, dense forest on white-sand ground that is seasonally flooded.
