Neodrepanis hypoxantha

The Yellow-bellied asity (Neodrepanis hypoxantha) is a small bird native to the eastern rainforests of Madagascar. It is known for its striking yellow belly and black and white plumage. This species is a nectarivore, feeding on the nectar of various flowers as well as insects. The Yellow-bellied asity is often observed foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy, using its specialized bill to extract nectar from flowers. It is also known for its distinctive vocalizations, often heard in the early morning and late afternoon.
