Yellow-bellied Dacnis

Yellow-bellied Dacnis, Dacnis flaviventer, is a passerine in the tanager family found in western and central Amazonia in South America. Its range covers Amazonian Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, and it also reaches the eastern Orinoco River region of Venezuela. It is a bird of the canopy in tropical humid lowland forest. Within the Amazon Basin it is widespread, but it does not occur in the north-east with the Guianas. Its presence also extends into central Bolivia from the main range, and in Venezuela it is recorded from the Amazonian drainages and headwaters.
