Yellow-bellied Eremomela

Eremomela icteropygialis

The Yellow-bellied Eremomela is a small, insectivorous bird found in eastern Africa. It has a distinctive yellow belly and a greyish-brown back with a prominent white eye-ring. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of its preferred habitats. Yellow-bellied Eremomelas are typically found in dense scrub, thickets, and woodland edges, where they forage for insects and small invertebrates. They are known for their agile and acrobatic foraging behavior, often seen flitting from branch to branch in search of prey. Despite their relatively wide distribution, the population trend of this species is not well-documented, and more research is needed to determine its conservation status.
