Yellow-bellied Greenbul

Calyptocichla serinus

The Yellow-bellied Greenbul (Calyptocichla serinus) is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of West Africa. It is known for its distinctive yellow underparts and vibrant green upperparts, with a subtle olive tinge on the wings. This species is often observed foraging for insects and fruits in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. Its melodious and varied song can be heard echoing through the dense foliage. The Yellow-bellied Greenbul plays a vital role in forest ecosystems as a seed disperser and insect predator.
