Yellow-bellied White-eye

Zosterops hypolais

The Yellow-bellied White-eye (Zosterops hypolais) is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive yellow belly and bright green upperparts. This species is known for its energetic and acrobatic foraging behavior as it flits through the foliage in search of insects and nectar. The Yellow-bellied White-eye is often found in mixed-species foraging flocks and is known for its melodious and varied song. It builds a cup-shaped nest from plant fibers and spider webs, often placed in the fork of a tree branch. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential threats to this species.
