Yellow-billed pintail

Anas georgica

The Yellow-billed pintail (Anas georgica) is a species of dabbling duck found in South America, the Falkland Islands, and South Georgia. It is a medium-sized duck with a distinctive yellow bill and a mottled brown plumage. These ducks are often found in freshwater wetlands, marshes, and lagoons, where they feed on aquatic plants, seeds, and small invertebrates. They are known for their strong migratory behavior, traveling long distances between their breeding and wintering grounds. The Yellow-billed pintail is not currently considered to be globally threatened and is classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN.
