Yellow-breasted Antpitta

Grallaria flavotincta

The Yellow-breasted Antpitta is a small, terrestrial bird found in the cloud forests of the Andes in South America. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, yellow throat and breast, and a distinctive white patch on its belly. These birds forage on the forest floor for insects and invertebrates, often remaining hidden amidst the dense undergrowth. Their haunting, flute-like calls are often heard in the early mornings. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the Yellow-breasted Antpitta is considered vulnerable to extinction.
