Yellow-breasted Canary

Crithagra hyposticta

The Yellow-breasted Canary is a small finch species native to southern Africa. It is known for its bright yellow underparts, olive-green upperparts, and distinctive streaked plumage. These sociable birds are often found in open woodlands, savannas, and grasslands, where they feed on seeds and small insects. They build cup-shaped nests in trees and shrubs, and their melodious song is a common feature of their habitats. The Yellow-breasted Canary is not currently considered to be at risk, and its populations are generally stable.
