Yellow-breasted Pipit, Anthus chloris, is a bird of the eastern escarpment of South Africa, with a small overlap into Lesotho. It is found in the Drakensberg region and along a stretch from Dullstroom in the north to Catchart in the south. Its breeding plumage includes a bright yellow breast, while outside the breeding season the breast becomes buff and the belly takes on a yellowish tone. The back is brown and patterned, the outer tail feathers are white, and the lower mandible is grey in non-breeding plumage.
